About Us

Welcome, dear reader - grab a cuppa and come into our virtual home where we chronicle our school free life. The kids were born in 2014 and 2016 and from the start we knew they wouldn't be going to school. We decided to trust in their ability and their own wish to learn as they follow their interests... here's where we journal life together, mostly so we ourselves can look back on it later.

We aren't rich; Mr works full time, while I - previously always a full-time office worker with a Master's in marketing - have retrained as an electronic notetaker so I can work at times that suit all the family. Money is tight, but those are the priorities we choose in life.

We live frugally by choice as well, to minimise our impact on the environment - we buy nothing new as far as we can avoid it (other than food of course); all our clothes, furniture, car, toys etc. are used unless we really need something specific and can't get it second hand. We do have TV which the kids mostly use for German language YouTube content, because otherwise they would only hear the language from mum.

What we are rich in, is love - we have firstly the love of Jesus, and building on that we do our best to be a love-based family. We cherish our times together.

Welcome to our online family home. We've got a cuppa ready for you; please do make yourself comfortable, poke through the posts as you please, and do leave us a note when anything strikes your interest.
